Scholarship applications for the Jason Paul Cameron Foundation are available in the guidance office or online at www.jpcfoundation.com. The Foundation was established in memory of Jason Cameron, a former WMHS student and Rebel Band member. Applications must be turned in to the WMHS Guidance Office by March 1, 2023. 

There is a new community scholarship application available:
Parker Alexander Attorneys at Law is awarding two scholarships: A grand prize of $2500 and a second prize of $500. To apply, students should submit an original essay with a proposal to improve traffic safety and/or reduce traffic accidents in Northeast Louisiana. Applications should also include a short statement as to individual scholarship need and the student's planned course of study in college.

Seniors:
If you have not ordered your Cap and Gown for our WMHS Graduation on May 11, 2023, you must do so this month before Christmas. The Graduate Shop is located at 4203 Cypress St., West Monroe, LA, or you may call them at 318-396-8232. They are open Monday-Friday from 8:30 to 5:00. Don't delay. Christmas Candy Grams are Back!!! We will be selling them on the boardwalk all week for $2 each.  When you purchase a candy gram, you will provide who the candy gram is to, who it is from, and the recipient’s first hour teacher. We will deliver all candy grams during first hour Thursday December 15.

The English Latino leadership society will be selling Alex's Latin Food coffee and hot chocolate next Monday, December 12th during both lunch shifts for $2. 

The first rehearsal for the 2023 MLK Tribute will be Wednesday, December 14th, from 3:30-4:30 in the cafeteria. Students who signed up or auditioned to participate should grab a rehearsal information sheet outside of Mrs. Anders's room (4204).

Tennis is hosting a Christmas Tournament Fundraiser on Saturday, December 17, starting at 9 am at the Rebel Tennis Courts.  There are divisions for all ages and all levels of play!  See one of our Rebel Tennis players or Coach Green to sign up. 

Junior Civitans: there are sign up sheets posted on Google Classroom for our Christmas meeting on December 13th and our special Christmas lunch on December 15th . Also, if you did not pick up your club t-shirt before the break, stop by Mrs. Beach's room (6206) to get it. 

Baseball tryouts have been moved to Saturday, January 7th. Players intending to try out still need to come by Coach Kidd's room (1211) and get a physical form

Students you can now start signing up for the next Drivers Ed class at gorebs.org, The class will start Thursday January 5th when we return from the holidays.

Any student who is interested in taking a spring dual enrollment class and who is not currently taking a dual enrollment class through ULM needs to see Mrs. Hunt about an application. Anyone currently taking a DE class through ULM does not need to fill out another application for the spring semester. Only elective courses are available second semester. The deadline for this application is Wednesday, December 14.

The Chick Fil A Leader Academy wants to bless the students and families of Lenwil Elementary this holiday season by hosting a Hygiene Supply drive. They are asking you, the students of WMHS to help by donating various hygiene items such as Bars of soap, Kid-friendly shampoo, deodorant, brushes or combs, and socks or underwear for children sizes 4-18. Please drop off any items to Mr. Valentine's room in room 1201. Don't miss this opportunity to serve our local community.
